The EOS M2's built-in Wi-Fi can be used both for image transfer to a smartphone, and for remote control using Canon's free 'EOS Remote' app. The Hybrid CMOS II sensor promises 2.3x faster autofocus, and its phase detection pixels cover a substantially larger area of the frame - approximately 80% overall. The camera does not include a built-in flash, but launched with a dedicated Canon Speedlite 90EX, which will be a part of a bundle pack for this camera in some markets. The camera is capable of supporting Standard Definition video at 30fps or 25fps, 720p HD video at 60fps or 50fps, and 1080p Full HD video at 30fps, 24fps or 25fps.
